Computer Vision and Machine Learning Based Incoming Material Quality Inspection for Fashion, Apparel and Leather Products

Currently, in textile-related industries, the inspection of materials used to make fashion and apparel products, home textile products, automobile interiors, and indeed all incoming material, relies almost exclusively on human visual inspection. Inspection results are often unreliable and inconsistent; the result of subjective assessment, fatigue and the boring nature of the inspection tasks. This project will develop an intelligent material analysis and inspection system that utilises computer vision and machine learning technologies. The system will check various common types of incoming materials at inspection points and will thereby automate manufacturing-related inspection processes.
