Dr Yan LUXIMON

Dr Yan Luximon is an Associate Professor in School of Design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She also serves as Lab Leader for Asian Ergonomics Design Lab and Deputy Discipline Leader for BA Product Design. She has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal papers, book chapters, patents and international conference papers. Her research interests include ergonomics in design, anthropometry and its application in design, 3D digital human modelling and CAD, design tool and visualisation, head and face related products, human computer interaction, cultural difference, statistical and mathematical models.

AI-enhanced 3D Head Scanning Technology for Retail & SMEs

Developed by Dr Yan Luximon and her team, this project aims to achieve AI-enhanced product customisation with the use of an economical 3D scanning machine to meet various business needs. AI is used to develop head templates that integrate 3D scanned head and face data captured in a kiosk with an economical depth camera. Accurate models can be created for customised product design, based on different ages and genders.
