We are thrilled to announce that the Intelligent Textile, which is developed by Dr Jeanne Tan and her team, has won an iF Design Award, out of almost 11,000 submissions from 56 nations. Recognised as a global symbol of excellent design, the award invited all winners from around the world to the festive ceremony in Berlin on 15 May to celebrate their design achievements.
Intelligent Textile is the world’s first contactless gesture recognition illuminative textile that changes color via hand and body gestures. It was featured with an offline system based on a self-built algorithm and a patented illuminative Polymeric Optical Fibre (POF) knitted textile. It had successfully transformed conventionally passive textiles into an intuitive and interactive platform that enables immediate color illumination customization. It can be applied in interiors, fashion and rehabilitation.
